NATIONAL ON-LINE CONCERT BAND EXHIBITION

The High School Band Directors National Association (HSBDNA) and Banddirector.com will partner to host a National Concert Band Exhibition online on the Banddirector.com website. The goal of this Exhibition is to promote participation and musical growth in school concert bands and individual musicians.

This is a Concert Band Exhibition providing an opportunity to demonstrate the exciting artistic medium of the concert band on nation-wide internet. In addition, the process of preparing, performing and evaluating each band's concert performance will provide valuable educational growth and pride to the Band Director and every student musician in the band.

Combining proven, new and innovative technology, this Concert Band Exhibition offers educational performance opportunities and constructive evaluation by a nationally-known adjudicator, Retired Colonel, Hal J. Gibson. Through this exciting internet medium, your concert band will receive national and even international exposure and may be viewed by anywhere on any computer at any time.

All Concert Bands will receive beautiful participant awards for the school. Valuable constructive and informative adjudication advice and comments will be given intended to enhance future group and individual performance. Band Directors will receive on-line instructional aids written by experts to assist in the preparation and performance of the school concert band. All this for a small entry fee of $100.

High School and Middle School Bands may choose music and the level of performance from level 3 to level 6 based on the ability level of the band. Ratings will be given from Average to Superior based on the quality of performance using the traditional concert band adjudication form. Special DISTINGUISHED PERFORMANCE awards will be presented by Retired Colonel, Hal J. Gibson to 3 Middle School bands and 3 High School bands.

Many thousands of people actively participate, or have participated, in school concert bands over the years. Never before have they had the opportunity to be heard and seen performing before a nationwide audience using this technology. Participation in this Concert Band Exhibition makes this become a reality.
